Description
• Day to day management of the Bank’s MS SQL Database systems ensuring availability and performance of the bank’s core application platforms. Act as a backup of IT Systems engineers for the messaging platforms and operation.
• Responsible for MS SQL Server building, tuning, recovering and restoring databases, advising on configuration, application SQL performance tuning and administering multiple environments.
• Support the daily production operations including the control of all jobs and processes and 2nd level support to end users.
• Design and support reporting and data extraction from our systems and applications.
• Act as a change manager offering DBA expertise for the development team and recommend/define best practices for SQL development and database.
Your profile:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 10 years’ working experience in IT & business/industry.
• Between 5 and 7 years’ professional experience as a Database Administrator, monitoring, administrating and implementing performance tuning on database systems as well as experience in database performance optimization, developing/changing database indexes, redesigning database structure and reloading data into a database.
• Extensive experience in managing MS SQL DB infrastructure in production.
• Proven experience in coordination of database architecture changes with database engineers, as well as installation of database managements systems, databases, tables and views.
• Proven experience in administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies and technologies, as well as developing/engineering, including software specification, design, implementation, test and documentation.
• Database administration in SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012 and later.
• Database partitioning, database compression, data encryption.
• Backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, database mirroring, replication and High Availability
• MS BI/DW tools. Technologies and products (SQL Server, SQL SIS, Analysis services, Reporting services,…)
• Demonstrated ability to document architecture and processes, respond to crisis objectively, use Shell Scripting for automation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms.
• Fluent English is mandatory, German &/or French are assets.
