Description


Product Management is a department within the Products & Solutions area in Wealth & Investment Management. It has a group-wide mandate for product development and management, covering the following topics:




  • to strengthen and sharpen the product offering  in line with the strategy of the bank and therefore to contribute to the differentiation  in its target segments
  • to drive the product development process group-wide across all business lines, incl. product governance and acceptance
  • to facilitate co-ordination between different distribution channels (incl. digital), transversal support functions, back offices and external partners
  • to achieve high reactivity vs markets shifts
  • For short-term products
  • On long-term investment solutions 
  • to establish setup to ‘push’ products to the different channels 
  • Co-ordination with Sales Management units of the business lines that will need to drive distribution at front level



The Head of Product Management is managing the teams Product Development & Pricing, Investment Services (the specialists for investment communication and related support services, e.g. investment performance monitoring) and Bancassurance, the product experts for brokered and non-brokered insurance solutions.


The overall unit consists of 12 – 16 people.



The role:



The Head of Product Management is directly reporting to the Head of Products & Solutions and is a member of senior management. It is a crucial role because its responsibilities are spanning across the entire Group and since it requires the ability to cover a broad range of needs and issues. It is important to maintain tight links with related transversal teams, e.g. Strategy, Marketing and Digital.

The Head of Product Management will cover the following responsibilities: 

  • Manage the product lifecycle, i.e. develop and maintain product offering (as well as closing outdated products)
  • Contribute to/Lead development of value propositions for strategic client segments
  • Develop market-oriented product offering for selected segments, incl. pricing concept & methodology in close co-operation with product units, taking into account the different tax and regulatory environments in the core markets
  • Adapt the product offering to the relevant channels, particularly digital 
  • Evaluate whether to buy or to make a certain product, and propose and evaluate external product providers
  • Analyze the offering regarding profitability, penetration, growth, pricing, incl. competitive intelligence
  • Identify tactical opportunities for short-term products and provide these products to the front units (e.g. structured products)
  • Manage the new products processes in project mode and play a key role in the product approval process, i.e. prepare for and participate in the Product Co-ordination Meeting and the New Products Committee
  • Co-ordinate the product offering and the product related processes with the international locations and across business lines
  • Develop and establish suitable product governance / acceptance processes across the entire Group
  • Manage the projects for product launches/changes incl. co-ordination of product-related trainings, transfers of clients etc.
  • Provide support for Marketing regarding product-related marketing materials, contractual documents and related processes
  • Lead the department in accordance with the human resource policies of the bank, attracting, developing and motivating top talent
  • Contribute to the overall development of Products & Solutions  transversally across all business lines and locations

Your profile

The role requires the following qualifications:

  • Experienced professional with deep product knowledge in wealth management (mandates, investments, lending, structuring), retail banking (mortgages, payments, accounts) and/or corporate/institutional banking, including regulatory requirements
  • Very good project and people management skills
  • Good communicator, at ease with handling different groups of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Masters degree from a top university
  • Genuine passion for providing clients with first-class financial services while understanding the underlying economics of the business
  • Ability to work within a team but be pro-active and with strong self-motivation
  • Fluent English and French a must, Luxemburgish or German are nice to have
